Happy Earthy Day weekend!
Happy Earthy Day! Oh, wait, that was yesterday. How about Happy Earth Day weekend? It's a little overcast where we are but a perfect weekend for yard work and planting trees. Once you're done in the yard, sit back and relax with the latest Avon brochure. Don't have one? Check it out online at my Avon website. Avon is celebrating Earth Day all weekend by giving away a FREE Earth Day tote with any $60 order. Use coupon code: EARTHDAY at checkout. You have until Sunday, April 24 at midnight to claim your free tote.
The following is from my Avon website explaining Avon's part in helping our planet Earth:
"Avon will donate $2.00 to the Avon Foundation for Women to fund reforestation programs through the Avon Healthy Forests, Beautiful World program.
Tropical forests are the “lungs of the earth,” helping to mitigate climate change and ensuring the wellbeing and livelihoods of women, families and communities around the world. At Avon, we are committed to supporting global reforestation. Avon’s Healthy Forests, Beautiful World global fundraising program has donated more than $7.5 million for global reforestation since 2010. 100% of the donation will fund reforestation projects managed by World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in two of the world’s most critically endangered ecosystems.

Avon funding supports TNC and its partners in their goal to plant one billion trees by 2025 and has enabled the planting and protection of more than 4.5 million trees in Brazil. Since 2011, Avon has supported WWF’s New Trees program, a reforestation program focused on community-based planting, monitoring and maintenance of more than 148,000 tree seedlings in the degraded forests across the Indonesian islands of Borneo, Sumatra, Java and Lombok. These Indonesian forests also provide habitat for orangutans and elephants and are estimated to absorb more than 6,000 tons of CO2 over the next 10 years."
I am a strong believer in helping endangered specials, saving the rain forests, etc. I try to teach my kids to recycle when they can, don't litter and just the other day, asked my daughter to cut the plastic rings on her Gatorade six pack. We plant trees wherever we can. My kids participated in tree planting at school. We turned our backyard into a bird-friendly yard the best we could. We made bird boxes for nests and hung them on in covered areas so they are safe for the birds. We hung the boxes last year and we saw some birds flying into them this year. I crochet in my spare time. I filled up a hanging suet feeder with my yarn scraps for the birds to take for their nests.
Celebrate Earth Day weekend and make your yard bird and animal friendly. I believe every little bit helps our planet Earth. Have a fantastic weekend! Thank you!
