Our Weekend Trip to PA
I'm venturing off the Avon course here for a moment. I'm originally from Reading, PA and moved to Snow Hill, MD in 2012. I still have some family in PA that we like to visit. I'm very close to my aunt who lives in Hamburg, PA.
The reason we took the trip to PA was to go bike riding on a trail we stumbled upon while visiting Valley Forge. My uncle suggested that we try the Schuylkill River Bike Trail at Kernsville Dam. We decided to skip the drive to Valley Forge drive and try this trail right up the road from where my aunt lives. We are so glad we tried this trail. Oh what a gorgeous trail! It was flat but it was six miles long so we still got some exercise out of it. There were lots of rocky mountain sides, trees and even a railroad station with the Blue Mountain Steam Engine.
Now we can't wait to see the trail in the fall! My uncle heard on the news that the fall foliage is supposed to be extremely colorful this year because they received a lot of rain over the summer. I'm sure there will be lots of pictures to show!
