Speaking of charities, what is your favorite charity to donate to this holiday season?  I do not donate money, but I will donate pet food to local pet shelters and the Humane Society.  I also donate most of my household items, clothing and toys that my children outgrew to a local shelter.  One year, I organized a food bank collection with my kids' elementary school. It was fun to do and I was so surprised at the response. We collected boxes and boxes of food.  The food bank was so grateful and what a good feeling it is to help out.  All I can hope for is that we helped put dinner on a family's table.  I will definitely do it again.  I was told that the food banks run low and seem to be forgotten after the holidays so I'll have to organize something during the long, winter months.  

Here's an idea I've been reading about on Facebook.  If you have an old purse or tote, fill it with personal items and give to someone in need.  I think this is a great idea.  Avon has many personal items that are affordable to fill a bag with.  Avon has deodorant, hand cream, lip balms, etc.  I'm pretty sure a bag filled with goodies would make anyone's day.  I really do like this idea and this will be my donation to the shelter this Christmas.
