Next Stop...Christmas! Make it an Avon Christmas this year!
Avon Campaign 24 brochure |
Halloween is over and what is the next stop on the holiday train? Thanksgiving? No, but it should be. According to retailers, it's Christmas! Avon is not any different. I think Thanksgiving is slowly losing its place but it's still a great holiday. I like the family gatherings, food and the fabulous 4 day weekend!
While we're on the Christmas train, let's take a look at the Avon 12 ways of Christmas. #1 - We'll start with the Disney Holiday Train set. If you love Disney, this would look wonderful under your Christmas tree. The Disney Holiday Train set is an Avon exclusive. The train runs on batteries and goes around a 53" diameter track. The train lights up, plays horn, engine sounds and Jingle Bells. Enjoy watching Mickey Mouse and his friends going around the tree. I miss setting up a train under the tree but the train doesn't get to move much with my five cats. One of them always knocks it off the tracks! In fact, I have to tie our Christmas tree to the wall so we do not have a tree mishap!
#2 - Get the ball rolling with an Ornament Tree Centerpiece. I bought this centerpiece for myself and I love it! It's different, colorful and will be gorgeous on my dining room table. All the Christmas ornaments included with the tree are glass. They have different sparkle designs on them. Each Christmas ornament hangs on a little hook on the tree. I showed this tree to one of my customers over the weekend and she can't decide if she wants one for herself or give it as a gift. The Avon lady here thinks, you should get 2! wink, wink! I'm even thinking about getting one for my office instead of a traditional Christmas tree that I can't seem to find the time to decorate around the holidays at work. This tree might be a lot easier!
#3 - Surprise your loved ones each day with a tiny gift from the Countdown to Christmas Advent Garland. The garland is just simply adorable! There are 24 numbered stockings on the garland. You can put 24 tiny gifts, one in each stocking per day. The stockings will hold a fun size candy bar or a few minis. Avon lip balms would fit perfectly or even a pair of earrings. Lipstick and lip glosses will fit too. If you have children, surprise them with a small toy each day. Maybe do something fun with your spouse and put little love notes in each stocking. You can get creative and have a great time with it!
#4 - Take a long winter's nap with a fleece throw and pillow cover. This fleece throw is soft and cozy warm. Cover your every day pillow on your sofa and turn your living room into a winter escape. The throw and pillow cover is red with snowflakes and not really a Christmas design so you can keep these out until Spring arrives. I'm always cold and wrap up in a blanket every evening while watching TV. Well, I don't exactly watch TV, I crochet instead and hear TV. I'm one of those people who cannot just watch TV. I find it impossible! I'm always doing something else - crochet, flipping through an Avon brochure or playing games on my Kindle.
#5 - Display your cards right with a Snowflake Card Holder Wreath. To be honest with you, I'm not sure why card holders are still popular. I hardly receive any cards and I haven't sent Christmas cards since I had children. I simply just don't have time around the holidays and postage is outrageous. But for those of you who receive cards, you can display them in this card holder rather than taping them to the door jamb like my mom used to do. Some Christmas cards are so pretty and a lot of them have sparkle now, this card display will look lovely.
#6 - Create a magical scene in your home for Christmas with a Winter Scene Painted By Santa piece. I bought this piece for myself and to use as a demo. I showed it to one of my customers over the weekend. As soon as I turned it on, she exclaimed, "That's beautiful! I don't know why anyone wouldn't like this as a gift." The piece is Santa painting a winter scene. It lights up, plays music and a train goes around. There is a switch that plays music or not but still the train moves and it lights up. I have to tell you though, the piece is stunning when lit up but the music is a bit loud.
#7 - Give them a holiday to remember with a 2015 Collectible Christmas Tree Plate with 18K gold accents. This plate is the perfect gift for a plate collector or someone who seems to have everything. Say it's a special Christmas this year like a first couple's Christmas or a first Christmas in a new home, remember the date always with this gorgeous plate. I like the plate but I really like the train candy dish on the same page as the plate in the Avon Campaign 24 brochure. It has peppermint wheels and is two pieces, the engine and a caboose. I think this train candy dish with after-dinner mints in it it on the dessert table at a Christmas gathering. Now, in my house, it would have to be filled M&M's!
#8 - Bring cheer for all to hear with a Christmas Carolers Music Box. It was really a toss up for me between getting this music box or the painted scene. I liked them both but decided on the painted scene piece because of my appreciation of art. I haven't seen the music box in person but the carolers move and it lights up. The music box plays "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." The painted scene piece plays three songs which was my other deciding factor but I really do like both pieces.
#9 - Branch out with either dated ornaments - a bell pewter ornament or a hand-painted angel ornament. Avon has a dated pewter ornament every year. I collect the dated Christmas pins that Avon has every year instead of the ornaments. As an Avon rep, it's easier for me to show off the Christmas pins. This year's pin is a pair of bells decorated with rhinestones. This year's dated pewter ornament is a pretty classic bell-shape with red rhinestone accents. The ornament comes in a velvet-like pouch for safe keeping.
#10 - Add decor that's Heaven sent with a Glass Angel with LED Light. Every year, Avon has some type of angel. This year's is a whimsical glass angel with a touch of gold sparkle. Every year, one of my customer's buys an angel to honor his son each Christmas. He lost his son a few years ago right before Christmas so this is his way of keeping his son's memory alive each holiday season. I'm pretty sure this angel will be on his next order as soon as he sees it in the brochure.
#11 - Glisten up with a Decorative Light-Up Tree. I want one is all I can say! (or 2 or 3) I enjoy lights and the more lights, the merrier. In fact, my hubby is going to be putting our outside Christmas lights up next weekend before it gets too cold. My neighbors always give him a hard time about it but we don't light them until Black Friday. The little plastic light hanging clips break more easily in the cold so that's why we started while it's still warm out during the day.
#12 - Make the room merrier with holiday scented 3-wick candles. Scents really do add something special to the holiday season. Do you have a wonderful Christmas memory pop into your head when you smell a certain scent? I think scented candles help bring back those memories but they also get me in the holiday spirit. The scent of pine gets me right in the mood to decorate the house. The scent of vanilla buttercream makes me want to get started on the Christmas cookies. Every year, I say to my husband that I'm only going to make a few cookies this year. I always bake so much more than a few!
These 12 Avon ways of Christmas are just a hint of what Avon has in store for you this holiday season. This year, Avon is doing something different - a separate holiday guide brochure - Avon Living. Avon Living is stuffed with holiday gift ideas, holiday decor, bakeware, etc. I will share Avon Living with you the next time around.
