Avon Campaign 1 - Makeup Therapy Sales
Happy New Year! 2023 wasn't too bad for me. We welcomed our first granddaughter. My husband retired and had his knee replaced. My son graduated high school and my daughter was awarded a grant for college to be a school teacher. Life is good. Let's see what 2024 has in store.
As for Avon in 2023, I don't like to speak poorly of the company but damn, Avon, get it together! LG Health and Beauty purchased Avon (U.S.) a few years ago and I'll tell you that it's just not the same. In the spring of 2023, I started selling Avon just online rather than in person. I hated to give up the extra income but the time spent on delivering orders was getting to be too much. My customers were great and I miss seeing them but it was taking up too much time.
One of the biggest reasons I started selling online only was because of the changes the new company made. We have to ship our returns ourselves which is not a big deal but have you seen the shipping prices lately? We used to be able to print a UPS label and leave our box of returns for the UPS carrier to pick up when the new order was delivered. It was convenient and a lot cheaper. So if a customer ordered a top that was too big, it would cost as much as the top as the credit I would get for returning the top. Yes, I know it's a cost of doing business but with all the other costs adding up, I could run in the red after a while and what's the sense of being in business if that's the case?
The other problem the company is facing is inventory or lack thereof. It seems any new product my customers would order wasn't available or out of stock. Towards the end of 2023, there are lots of products including the number one seller - Skin So Soft - that is out of stock. Some reps in Facebook groups I belong to said that Avon is having manufacturing issues and they can't seem to get caught up.
So let's hope 2024 is the year that Avon turns around!
