  My Dad and I have a great relationship now that I'm an adult.  He's a good grandfather and my kids adore him.  We live 4 hours away from him but he occasionally stays with us for a few days and spoils the kids the whole time he's here.  He takes them places, let them order whatever they want when they eat out, teaches them things,etc.  I love it because it gives me a break!  The next time he visits, my daughter wants him to take her parasailing for her birthday.  That'll be fun!
