My Top 5 Reasons to Become an Avon Representative

At the beginning of January, I've been with Avon for seven years.  Why do I stick with Avon?  Good question and some days, I wonder why.  When sales are slow or I have too much going on in my personal life, I wonder if I shouldn't give up Avon but I don't and here's why:

#1

I love Avon products!  When I moved to the Eastern Shore from Pennsylvania, I just started buying my makeup in stores because I didn't know anyone who sold Avon here.  I tried several different brands but I could not find an eyeliner that didn't run so bad.  Avon's eyeliner worked so well for me and I missed it so but I lived with the brands that I found in the stores.  I became friends with a woman who stood at the bus stop in the morning with her children.  She handed me an Avon brochure one morning and I was thrilled!  Woo-hoo! I can get my eyeliner again.  I placed several orders with her and even bought Christmas presents for my family members.  I was so happy!  Then she moved away.  There went my Avon representative so I thought that I might as well try this myself.  I didn't know if I would make any money but at least I can get my Avon goodies.

I only do Avon part-time because I love my full-time job as an accountant.  Avon is a great part-time job because I don't have to be away from my family.  My children deliver orders with me and even help hand out brochures.

Avon brought some wonderful people into my life.  I would have never met some of my customers if it wasn't for Avon.  I became friends with most of my customers.  I look forward to chatting with my customers when I drop off their orders or brochures.  I love when my customers tear open their bags to check out their purchases.  They get so excited to see what they ordered.

With Avon, there are no sales goals or quotas that I have to meet each month.  I'm not a salesperson and not competitive so I'm happy with the sales and customers I have.  Obviously, the more customers I have, the more sales and the more money I make but I'm not going to run myself ragged trying to meet a sales goal.  I set my own personal goals but I don't have someone telling me to reach a goal or I'll be booted out of Avon.  Avon requires every representative to submit an order every other week, no matter the dollar amount.  In order to get my discount, the order needs to be over $50, but there has never been a time that I didn't have at least $100 in orders so I don't sweat it.

Avon is a very affordable business to have.  It cost me $10 to start but since then, the cost increased to $15.  The current starter kit is much nicer than mine was seven years ago.  After the initial starter kit fee, the only costs I have are the brochures, a small shipping fee for each order depending on the size of the order, samples and bags.  I also pay for advertising here and there.  My store website is free and provided to me by Avon.  I have to admit that I started with another direct selling company last year but had to quit soon after I started because it was too expensive to keep going.  The brochures for this other company were over $1.00 each.  The shipping costs were outrageous!  Since I didn't meet the required sales amount to stay active, it was $35 to keep my account open.  No thanks!

If you think Avon can fit into your life, sign up online.  Nothing to lose except $15.  I've been happy with the company and feel that Avon is now a part of my life and my family.
